On the first day [Sunday], we took a tour of Best Friends, we did our Volunteer Orientation, and then in the afternoon we went and worked in the Cat Section...there are nearly 800 cats- from neglected, to feral, to abused, to FIV/FIB, etc...Most of the cats just want to be pet and loved and cared for. Of course, many are too skittish to even come down from the rafters. We helped clean rooms, feed cats, and in return received many 'kisses'. We also were reminded how animals don't judge others because of their 'disabilities'....and some say we are the more 'advanced' species????
